All Part of the Mystery

Grrr....Blgger has not been letting me post pictures these last few days...sigh...

I shall have to relate a non-illustrated anecdote I suppose.

I was at work the other day, out on the playground, and listening with half an ear to two of my co-workers discussing their figures. They were bemoaning how no matter how much they dieted or exercised, they still couldn't get rid of their love-handles.

Their dismayed faces were almost comical to watch as they examined their hips. These two people are among the slimmest women I know. In my experience it's always those people with the least figure problems that criticize themselves the most.

Anyway, it seems one of our wise five year old boys was also listening to this exchange with interest.

As one of my co-workers asked aloud the question to the air-- "Why, oh why, can't I get rid of them, no matter what?" -- he piped up from nearby in a comforting tone "I guess it's just all part of the Mystery...."

You could hear the capital M in his voice.

Yes indeed, just all part of the Mystery. Remember that next time, ye who look upon your hips and despair. :)

Hello, it's been a while since I've dropped by.
I've discovered that when Blogger won't let you post pictures, just save your post as a draft, then re-open it, and blogger will let you post pictures, one at a time !! Seems to work for me, anyway. Thought you might find it helpful.
Hope you are well.
Take care, Meow

Meow's solution has worked for me before, along with just adding the photos into a new post, and then pasting your text...but there was no tricking blogger this week! It was a bear, and I'm seeing lots of complaints.

I have mysterious hips too. And arm-things. And tummy. I am a complete enigma.

That brings to mind a poem...

"Look upon these hips, ye Mighty, and despair!"

From the mouths of babes and sucklings...

Now, will any of these women heed the child's wisdom?

By the way, I like Meow's dancing kitty. Very groovy.

Gotta go with GNG here and steal her line "I'm an enigma." That totally works for me, too. I'm also fond of saying I don't have big hips ~ I have an anti-hypothermia belt. New England winters get cold, afterall.

Oh that is a cute and wonderful story. Thanks for sharing it.

And Meow's dancing kitty goes very well with the jazz music I'm playing right now ;)

Wondering what you would have put up as a picture. Mystery and not love handles I suppose ;)
